What is the biggest future opportunity for financial planners?

There is a fulfilment gap that exists in society.

Many people are obtaining career success and meeting their ego-survival-I have enough needs. However, even within financially secure people, there is a feeling of unease that I should feel better and be more at peace.

Psychologically speaking, typically from age 40 and beyond, to feel content, our daily endeavours must not just meet our ego needs, but also our soul needs. We must derive real purpose and meaning from our daily actions!

Society doesn't know this. It just feels uneasy and does not change it's habitual thinking and behaviour to reflect this well-being necessity.

The financial planning profession can be the tribe that helps society bridge the fulfilment gap highlighted in my drawing.

We must acknowledge that if we want to do that, we have a skills gap. CII exams (suitable for techy competency) and our typical learning metrics keep our conversations in current society mode and not balance and contentment mode.

The WHY is obvious, but the WHAT and the HOW is a little more nuanced and will require effort!

More meaning in life = more money meaning!

I explore the WHAT & the HOW in 'Essential Habits of Future Financial Planners' coming to Amazon and straight to your Kindle sometime during the golf and tennis major season.
